Both the event and parking are FREE. See up close and personal what goes into opening day! This year they’ve added an exhibition game between the Padres and the Mexico City Red Devils – yeah! It’s slated to begin at 2:00 PM. You’ll have an opportunity to meet players, play on the field, and get professional tips on your pitching and hitting. There’s going to be some unique Padres gear for purchase so crack open your piggy bank, dig that envelope of cash out of your secret hiding place – or, just bring your wallet because you’re going to want to have a souvenir to remember this awesome day!

36th Annual Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off – Saturday, June 27, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PMIt’s almost time for the Ocean Beach Street Fair! Their motto: Eclectic fun in the sun for all ages. And, it’s true! Mark your calendars, dig out your Birkenstocks, sage, and be sure to review your How to be a Hippie manual. If you don’t have time just remember the basic hippy values: peace and love. I say we’re all hippies at heart! More than 65,000 visitors attend this annual event where you’ll find: yummy festival food, a beachside beer garden, the community mural project, unique local art at Artists Alley, beachfront entertainment, shopping, carnival rides, games, and – the chili competition with over 24 tastings. This is an all-ages event. Bring your camera. You’ll want to Instagram, FB, Snapchat and Photoshop the heck out of this day!
