You’ll be near the seals at the Children’s Pool, Scripps Park, swimming at the Cove, caves to explore and walking distance to the shops and eateries in the Village of La Jolla. Seaport Village – Visit Seaport Village in Downtown San Diego for hours of free entertainment, window shopping a leisurely stroll along the San Diego Bay. There are entertainers and grassy spots to view the passing boats and ships going in and out of the bay, and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
Gaslamp Quarter – Stroll through the historic Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego to get a taste of many renovated turn-of-the-century buildings which are now home to a multitude of dining options, boutiques, art galleries, specialty shops and more.
Go fly a kite – Fly a kite along the eastern shores of Mission Bay Park. There are plenty of open spaces to fly your own or watch the truly talented perform dazzling tricks. Bring a picnic lunch and soak up some sun!
Balboa Park – Visit Balboa Park and enjoy free organ concerts at 2:00 pm on Sundays at the Organ Pavillion, a San Diego landmark since 1914. Featuring one of the world’s largest outdoor pipe organ with enormous 32-foot pipes. Afterwards you can stroll through the many wonders of Balboa Park.
Science Center – While you’re at Balboa Park, be sure to Stargaze outside the Reuben H. Fleet ScienceCenter on the first Wednesday of every month. The San Diego Astronomy Association offers guests the chance to view all the stars in the night sky through their telescopes.
Old Town San Diego – Old Town is one of California’s first settlements. Here you can wander through historic buildings and get an idea of what life was like for San Diego’s earliest settlers..
Mission Bay – MissionBay Park is a 4600 acre man made water park featuring parks and surrounded by scenic paths and trails, perfect for strolling, roller blading or biking. Take a rest on the shoreline and watch the many boats and watercraft cruise along the tranquil waters.
U.S. Olympic Training Center – The U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista at Otay Lake offers free tours of the 150-acre training facility, including training fields and tracks and dorms. Tours are offered from the Copley Visitor Center at 11:00 am on Saturday. Self-guided tours are available daily between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
